Hi, I’m Sam Ghioto, founder of Ghioto Wedding Films. My last name is an Italian word, ghiotto, which describes someone who likes food that is savory and sweet. My ancestors came from Italy as winemakers, bringing their passion and craft to the southeast. Ghioto hints at the pleasurable and rich moments worth savoring.

 

Growing up on Saint Simons Island, surrounded by salt marshes and the rhythms of the coast, I fell in love with documentary storytelling through the lens of nature and human connection. Weddings and creating films, I realized, are a perfect reflection of this: communities coming together, moments intertwining, and stories unfolding in real time.
